The Old Court House is a traditional thatched country inn dating from 1633. Charles 1 stayed here in 1634 on his first tour of the westcountry and an orginal Royal House of Stuart Coat of Arms is still on the premises.

Lloyd Maunder was born into a large family in Witheridge, Devon in 1873. In those days it was quite common for farmers to kill their own livestock and sell through local butchers. Lloyd was therefore born into a family tradition of meat production and he formed his own company trading wholesale meat in 1898. So here’s the deal. Back in 2014 Nico came up with a pretty ambitious plan. He was tired of the same old average ice-cream which led him and his girlfriend Natasha (Tash for short) on a pretty crazy Ice-cream filled adventure! They travelled the world in search of the perfect scoop and whilst on their travels they discovered some damn good ice-cream (and some pretty awful ones) and soon after returning the decision was made to jump into the ice-cream manufacturing world themselves and produce their very own Super Premium Ice-cream.
In 2016 with equipment sourced from around the world they got to work. The following 18 months consisted of many trials and lots of errors but finally they began to produce some Ice-cream worthy of the name, and in late 2017 Nico’s Creamery was born.

Our family have farmed in North Devon for over 100 years, in that time farming dairy, beef, sheep and chicken. In recent years and with an ever-growing awareness of consumers wanting high quality locally produced food, we embarked on selling eggs to local outlets and caterers, including shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and hotels – thus the brand of Farmer Bob’s Eggs was launched in 2010.
During the summer of 2018 we had the opportunity of taking on a local dairy business of high repute, having been built up over the last 30 years, and so we became Farmer Bob’s Dairy.

Barnstaple – Mondays and Thursdays
Braunton and Ilfracombe – Tuesdays and Fridays
Bideford and South Molton – Wednesdays and Saturdays
For other towns and villages you will be given notification of which day by email.
