The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust was established in April 2022, bringing together the expertise of both the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust.
Stretching across Northern, Eastern and Mid Devon, we have a workforce of over 15,000 staff, making us the largest employer in Devon. Our core services, which we provide for more than 615,000 people, cover more than 2,000 square miles across Devon, while some of our specialist services cover the whole of the peninsula, extending our reach as far as Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
We deliver a wide range of emergency, specialist and general medical services through North Devon District Hospital (EX31 4JB) and the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (Wonford) (EX2 5DW). Alongside our two acute hospitals, we provide integrated health and social care services across a variety of settings including community inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, and within people’s own homes. We also offer primary care services, a range of specialist community services, and Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC).
Our hospitals are both renowned for their research, innovation and links to universities.

The Ivor Marsh Library was created through the refurbishment of the ‘Classroom of the Future’.
Ivor Marsh was a highly regarded former headmaster of Chulmleigh College who set up our community library back in the 1980s.
Mr Marsh recognised the value of reading and we think he would have approved of our ‘Accelerated Reader Scheme’ in the College, which has more than doubled the use of the library by our pupils.
As well as being a school library, we are also open to the Community. We stock a wide range of resources including adult fiction, junior fiction, picture, audio and large print books

We want to be able to reach out and help our communities in need, to help anyone struggling with mental wellbeing & loneliness. To do this we seek like-minded not-for-profit organisations to work collaboratively with, please get in touch.
Dealing with the many challenges of today requires slowing down, learning skills and techniques to help your connection to nature and yourself. Grandmother Beech Community Interest Company emerged out of a desire to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words.
Established in 2021 during the pandemic, we’re an organization driven by a vision of healing and learning with and through nature. We extend out a strong foundation of support.
Now’s the time for us to get this right! - to keep looking out for each other; to keep compassion and justice at the heart of our communities; to keep strengthening the systems that support us all when times are tough. As we open up, we can make sure we are working for each and every one of us.

The Exmoor Centre is a remote residential centre in the Hoaroak valley near Lynton & Lynmouth where young people and families can enjoy being in the heart of Exmoor. Situated beside Hoaroak Water with direct access to open moorland we have inside dormitory accommodation for ten and in the grounds camping for twenty or so more. The property is divided so that most of the grounds will remain wild; there is a fenced area bordering the river which is the site of the bunkhouse itself.
ST MARY LYNCOMBE EXMOOR TRUST, own the property and became a registered Charity in 2009. The purpose of the Trust is to manage and conserve the area and to provide the opportunity of staying on Exmoor in an isolated situation. As Trustees we must apply the income of the charity “to promote the physical and mental wellbeing of children, young people, families and adults through the provision of outdoor experience within the National Park of Exmoor”.
Established under the will of Dora Cartwright-Williams, it was her wish to see a centre for young people in the Hoaroak Valley in memory of her husband and their life together on Exmoor. Their home in the valley was swept away in the floods that engulfed Lynmouth in August of 1952. The Centre was originally financed and built by the Parent Teacher Association of Ilfracombe Grammar School and opened in 1968.
The Trust today are as enthusiastic as ever with some members having had an involvement from the very start of the project to build the centre. We do occasionally need to co-opt on new Trustees so if you are interested in helping out then please get in touch.
