Friends of Mincinglake is a community group, under the umbrella of Transition Exeter, who aim to empower local people to use and become involved with the management of their local valley park. Initial activities have centred around the community orchard and have included an apple juicing day and an apple tree adoption and wassail. The group aims to engage residents in “green gym” activities around the park by giving them a sense of ownership for their local green space.

The Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group SouthWest (FWAG SouthWest) is a registered charity representing the region’s farmers and landowners in the delivery of wildlife conservation.
FWAG was first established as a charity in the 1960s by a group of forward thinking farmers who saw that the environment was an important part of a successful farming business.

Agricology is about restoring soils, using fewer chemicals, tackling climate change and replenishing wildlife and natural habitats. Our focus is on building a more diverse, more resilient system that restores the land, from the ground up, and ensures a secure supply of food. We want to create a better, fairer food and farming system that works with nature to produce healthier crops, higher welfare animals and nutritious food for all.
What is Agricology?
Agricology is network whose purpose is to share practical information on sustainable approaches with farmers and growers. It is a free platform, open to everyone. The project was set up in 2015 and is run in partnership with the The Daylesford Foundation, Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust Allerton Project, and the Organic Research Centre. Our founding three organisations have now grown to more than forty on the steering group, with contributions to the project from over 120 institutions, a digital audience of 150,000 and a quarter of a million views on our YouTube videos.

We are a group of farmers who have come together to champion a way of farming which is sustainable and good for nature. We come from a range of backgrounds big and small, organic and conventional and are passionate about ensuring our countryside is productive and bursting with wildlife. We hope you will join us to help highlight that farming and nature can go hand in hand. The network is open to farmers and the public alike and there is no cost to join. The NFFN will raise awareness of nature friendly farming, share insights and experience and work together for better policies for food and farming.

Chulmleigh Old Fair has taken place every year since King Henry III granted a Royal Charter to the Town in 1253.
Even during the darkest days of two world wars, Chulmleigh managed to maintain this historic event.
The fair always starts at 6.30pm, on the Tuesday evening following the 22nd July. The opening of the fair is followed by the ancient money scramble, although the coins are no longer heated until red hot!
A large white glove symbolising, the King’s gauntlet, is paraded through the town by the Chief Herald, before being displayed from the Town Hall throughout the Fair which ends at midnight Saturday.

Welcome to the Devon Community Composting Network (DCCN) Website. Sadly DCCN is no longer funded by the local Authorities after 20 years due to cuts. DCCN has been involved for years at looking at community composting, and has also found a specific niche in composting food waste – from pioneering work done with Proper Job in Chagford – through to developing compost systems with the Compost Doctors.
