Please join the fight against Single Use Plastics as part of the Surfers against Sewage Plastic Free campaign for a Plastic Free Tavistock.
As part of this campaign everyone needs to look at their single use plastics and try and find 3 items that they can exchange for a plastic free alternative or do without.
This page is also here to share ideas on how we all can reduce our single use plastics and find ways in which we can reduce our plastic consumption.
Remember Refuse, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

Snapdragons is a community space for those wanting an alternative to mainstream education and lifestyle.
Snapdragons Plymouth CIC is a community interest company that has been set up by Laura Roberts, Gia Daprano and Shelley Little. For the most part it is a Steiner Waldorf inspired early years centre. However, the venue is also home to a wide range of other projects – an alternative library, Plymouth Red Tent, Plymouth Woodcraft Folk, a biodynamic and organic garden and allotment, a food coop, wild food and foraging walks, forest school and bushcraft sessions, arts and crafts sessions, music sessions and more.

The Deer Wood Trust is a not for profit organisation aimed at conservation and education, as well as benefits to the community, society and the environment at large. The trust represents a social model that is part of the pioneering movement towards a truly sustainable modern way of living in harmony with the land. The objective is to operate beyond “carbon neutral” via land based endeavours centred around tree cultivation. Efforts are also aimed at implementing activities involving volunteers and course participants that result in giving back to the natural systems more than is taken out. The net result is not just carbon positive but socially and ecologically positive too- a truly holistic approach to living as well as making strides towards repairing the damage done by negligent human activities.
The Site - This quiet 12 acres of mixed deciduous forest is a part of the land tapestry which makes up the Aller brook catchment that feeds into South Devon’s Avon River. After many years of neglect Deer Wood has now become a vibrant living example of our emerging contemporary British woodland culture. Managed in an ecologically sensitive and balanced way Deer Wood is a healthy and diverse home to a great range of trees, plants, insects and animals as well as it’s human custodians who live on site in a simple and sustainable manner in-keeping with the woodland environment.

The Totally Locally campaign started out in the north of England and has grown into an award-winning worldwide movement that offers ideas and promotional downloads to independent traders. Your Chamber is proposing to use this off-the-shelf support package to continue making Crediton a stronger, more vibrant and resilient place.
If you would like to find out more about Totally Locally then please visit their website. https://totallylocally.org/stuff/
The main message we would like to get across is that
if every adult in Crediton spent just £5 per week in a local shop/business that would put £4.5 million into the local economy.
MEANWHILE, we propose the following:
that local businesses display a poster promoting the ethos of shopping locally
that we plan to join the nationwide Fiver Fest on 8–15 June 2019; businesses willing to create a £5 offer for that period display a poster to that effect

At the Ilfracombe Town Council meeting on 12th February 2018 (and following subsequent approval on 12th March 2018) the Town Council nominated Cllr Steve Trebble as the lead for a Plastic Free Ilfracombe campaign whilst allocating Town Council resources to manage, promote and deliver the project.
Work has already begun using the Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Coastlines Community Toolkit as a basis to not only achieve Plastic Free Coastline certification for the town but, to fully establish Plastic Free Ilfracombe as a nationwide community leader in responding to one of the biggest global threats of our age.
We can not achieve our Plastic Free ambitions without YOUR help!
In partnership with Plastic Free North Devon we will both be updating our Facebook pages with information updates, events, ideas, initiatives and local business champions but, remember to let us know YOUR ideas, comments and suggestions so together..........
We can make a difference!

We are an Ocean Conservation volunteer group creating a community of carers for our coasts through organising regular beach clean events across Plymouth’s coastal locations. Founded in February 2018, by Oleta Forde, it was only a month later we held our first event in the snowstorm of March 2018!
Humans have explored less than 10% of the ocean but with every new discovery and every new journey to the deep ocean, we are finding our rubbish has beaten us there.
Being a Beach Clean Volunteer you are actively engaging in conservation for the environment, the ocean and our planet. You will get the opportunity to learn more about what is happening on our local coastline, increase your health and wellbeing, meet other local beach cleaners and learn about marine life at the same time.

TAAG. was formed to improve communication between artists and art organisations and to further the Arts in the area through collaboration and mutual support.
Teignmouth Recycled Art in Landscape (TRAIL) 2020 - 22nd July 2020
Teignmouth seafront is alive with art this weekend as the 16th annual sculpture trail goes up in the glorious sunshine.
Despite CV19, the TRAIL organisers have inspired environmental artists from around the South West to create artworks from recycled materials. Local businesses have rallied to help fund the event which attracts thousands of visitors over the summer.
Over 30 artists responded to TRAIL’s simple design brief, to create a sculpture from at least 70% recycled materials with an environmental message – the finished artworks are stunning.

Nudge is a community benefit society that owns, creates and runs activity in disused, underused or unusual urban spaces to lead to lasting positive change and community led regeneration.
We do this through:
- Listening to our community – taking their lead in developing a ‘nudge’, making it happen and learning about its impact.
- Collaborating with other organisations and groups to make the most effective impact in our community.
- Keeping residents central to our organisation and the main beneficiaries of a nudge.
- Taking fun and creative approaches to difficult issues to create an alternative way.
We are local residents living in Stonehouse, Plymouth – making things happen in our community.
