The Younghayes Centre, situated in Younghayes Road – adjacent to the Medical Centre and opposite St Martin’s Primary School – is a busy hub at the heart of the community. Built in 2012, its main hall is in use throughout the week by a wide variety of community, youth and sports groups, whilst at weekends it is the venue for private parties and other events. Also housed within the building are tenanted business offices, including the office of Cranbrook Town Council.
The Younghayes Centre transferred ownership to the Town Council in November 2019. Cranbrook Town Council manages the building, facilitating room bookings and coordinating usage of the building.

Good Roots Barn, was born one day after spending many hours trawling the internet trying to purchase bird food that did not come in plastic! I have been practising a plastic free lifestyle for many years now and it seemed only natural to convey this into the place I love most, my garden. So the adventure begins! It is my aim to offer alternatives to plastic in an industry dominated by it, but also to educate via our blog and social media. So let’s provide some demand within the industry for plastic free gardening supplies, as the consumer you hold all the power to encourage change, happy shopping.

Pasture containing grasses, wildflowers and herbs is the natural diet of cattle and sheep. Yet today, very few animals are fed from pasture alone. Many farmers now try to produce their meat and milk as quickly as possible, by feeding things like cereals and imported soya, with animals indoors much of the time. So animals are vanishing from our fields and the tasty, healthy, grass-fed food they produce is hard to find. Our farmers make the most of their pastures by keeping their animals out for as long as possible and feeding preserved pasture if they need to come inside.

The Bridford Trust is a charity, established in 2001, with the main aim of instigating and developing appropriate recreational, environmental and conservation projects within the parish of Bridford for the benefit of all. In pursuing this aim the Trust works closely with Bridford Parish Council and the Dartmoor National Park Authority.
Two major projects have been established: Bridford Woodland Park and Rowdon Valley Wood.
The Bridford Trust is open to all, whether a Bridford resident or not, and offers the chance for people to support a local organisation seeking to improve and conserve the environment for all to enjoy.
