Brendon is a village in Devon, England, close to the border with Somerset within the Exmoor National Park. The village is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) southeast of Lynton and 15 miles (24 km) west of Minehead in the East Lyn Valley. It is located just off the A39 and is on two long distance footpaths, the Coleridge Way and the Samaritans Way South West. The Church of St Brendon is 2 mi (3 km) from the village and was built in 1738, possibly with building material brought from another site.

Countisbury is a hamlet on Exmoor in Devon, England. It is roughly two miles east of Lynmouth along the A39. It has a church and pub. The National Trust owns the other buildings.

Some scholars believe the Iron Age promontory fort of Wind Hill on Countisbury Hill was the site of the Battle of Cynuit in 878.

IMPACT Community Carbon Calculator

Welcome to the Impact tool for community carbon footprinting. This tool was developed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE), as part of their Climate Emergency Support Programme, working jointly with the University of Exeter’s Centre for Energy & the Environment (CEE), as part of their South West Environment and Climate Action Network (SWeCAN) project.

The aim of the tool is to give small communities data on their carbon emissions that is easy to interpret, easy to share, and which gives them a clear idea of their main ‘impact areas’ – those big segments where concerted, community based action could really make a dent in local emissions. The information is displayed visually via a series of charts.
