The Devonshire Association Entomology Section promotes the study and recording of insects and also spiders in the county.
Meetings, talks, exhibitions, publications and field trips are arranged annually across the county of Devon and are suitable for beginners and experienced alike. Field trips are usually held in association with other specialist groups with whom we maintain close links. We also meet with other sections to demonstrate, and learn, about the inter-relationships with other disciplines.
With at least ten specialists in different Orders within the insect class we cater for a wide range of interests. Some of our Recorders are national experts in their field and hence we are the major collective source of entomological expertise in the county.

Fridays for Future Barnstaple is a group of teenagers (and beyond) united under a common goal: to bring the climate crisis into public conversation in order to pressure institutions to act now so that our futures - and those already experiencing the impacts - are protected. Inspired by Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg (and the dire actions of our government), we have held some form of public event almost every month since May 2019, ranging from small assemblies to general strikes ~850+ strong as part of an international strike.

Fridays for Future Exeter is a group of teenagers (and beyond) united under a common goal: to bring the climate crisis into public conversation in order to pressure institutions to act now so that our futures - and those already experiencing the impacts - are protected. We have grown from a handful of kids in January with a crazy plan to shout at Devon County Council, to a loud-mouthed organisation with around 20 active members, demanding that local establishments (mostly the councils) treat the crisis appropriately (ie. put into place our 14 page long Green New Deal for Devon). Inspired by Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg (and the dire actions of our government), we have held some form of public event almost every month since February 2019, ranging from small assemblies to general strikes ~5,000 strong as part of an international strike.

The Devon Mammal Group was formed in 1999 by a keen group of like-minded people all with an interest in furthering the conservation of mammals within the county and further afield.
The group organises an extensive programme of events throughout the county including training on mammal tracking, talks about on-going and potential mammal projects both locally and nationally. We also organise occasional European trips and a topical symposium with national experts in attendance.
By becoming a member of the group you will be helping further the conservation and understanding of mammals in Devon and have access to a wide range of expertise.
We run a regular series of events which are open to both members and non-members (discounted entry for members).
Summer events include field trips to sites around Devon, whilst Winter events are usually held indoors, and include talks from expert speakers on a wide variety of mammal-related subjects.

We have a dream To create a vibrant and successful City Farm here in Exeter.
To provide a thriving community hub, a place of recreation, education and therapy for the local community. We want to give local people the opportunity to learn about animals, food, nature and the environment and to create a place where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together, learn and thrive.
We want to provide a wide range of services, facilities, workshops, activities and events for the whole community, from children, families, young people and schools to adults, older people and those with learning difficulties & disabilities or physical disabilities.
We are currently looking for a suitable site within the city so that we can bring our plans to life. Our website is regularly updated with news and information, so please do visit us again!

Exeter City Council has declared a climate emergency.
Like Exeter, many other cities and towns are aiming to be carbon neutral; but few have set out clear and deliverable plans to show how that will be reached.
The City Council has asked Exeter City Futures to work in partnership with the city to create a clear delivery roadmap.
This will set out the scale of the challenge, and the likely actions and investment required to ensure that Exeter is, and is in a position to remain, carbon neutral by 2030.
