British Wool at its best from pedigree Grey Faced Dartmoor sheep with a little Blue Faced Leicester. We breed, lamb and hand shear on our family farm.
The inspiration for Lily Warne Wool derives from my great-great-grandmother, ‘Lily Warne’. She was a sheep farmer at the turn of the 20th Century, outside Chagford in Devon. She not only bred these wonderful sheep, but turned the fleeces into wonderful garments. We can trace our family connections through the towns and villages on Dartmoor for over a hundred years.
We are proud to continue to live and work in this wonderful part of Devon surrounded by our extended family and wonderful friends all of whom have helped us make Lily Warne Wool what it is today. We are delighted to be able to have a positive impact on not just the local farming community but also the wider local community as Lily Warne Wool grows day by day to provide more employment and income for the local area and shepherds as well as showcasing this beautiful area we are proud to call home to the nation through our frequent media appearances. We wish Lily could be here to share our journey in person but we are sure she would be very proud.

Devon Duvets is a family-run business, owned by husband and wife team Dick and Pauline Beijen. Gaining inspiration from living in a beautiful part of the country, our fantastic range of eco-friendly 100% natural bedding products are handcrafted by a team of professional seamstresses in our Devon workshops. Our products are 100% sustainable – even down to the packaging we use.
Getting a good night’s sleep is very important and the bedding that you use can make a big difference on whether you achieve this or not. Natural products are breathable and temperature regulating, i.e. keep you warm when you are cold and dissipate heat during the warmer months. They are more efficient at doing this than bedding containing synthetic fibres.
All of our natural bedding products are ethically and responsibly sourced and are 100% sustainable. We aim to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible and are constantly seeking ways in which we can improve on this.

Proper farmers with mud on our boots, we’ve been growing organic produce for over 30 years. Unashamedly nerdy about veg, we always choose the tastiest varieties – and never spray your food with artificial nasties. Caring for the soil and wildlife on our land, as well as the other growers and makers in our community, is at the heart of everything we do.

When we started farming organically we soon noticed how much healthier our livestock had become. This convinced us that natural is best, so we do not homogenise any of our milk (it is all pasteurised) and our natural yoghurt contains nothing but our own organic milk and vital living bacteria; Lactobacillus Acidophilus LA5, Streptococcus Thermophilus, Bifidobacterium, BB12.
We sell most of our milk in 1L reusable glass bottles on a deposit system. It is also available in plastic 1pint, 2pint and 4pint bottles.
We take great care to make our products as tasty and nutritious as we can, so we leave our yoghurt to incubate for a minimum of 24 hours.

Langage Farm has remained a working farmstead for over 900 years in the rolling Devonshire countryside. In 1980 the Harvey family started to produce our world-famous clotted cream from us Jersey and Guernsey cows for a nearby shop. From that moment, our name has been synonymous with delicious Devon products…a little Heaven from Devon – udderly delicious.
We moo-ved from the original farm in Langage, Plympton to pastures news just across the fields to our moo farm in Smithaleigh in 2003.
Today, the company employs around 50 people and I am part of a herd of over 250 special Jersey and Guernsey cows. Together we produce the most wonderful cream, ice creams, yoghurts, spreads, dips, cream cheese…..too many to list. Why don’t moo take a trot around our website to find out more.
You can buy our products in our Ridgeway Shop, Plympton, Plymouth as well as from a whole host of shops, cafes and restaurants – graze our Stockists page for more details.

Huxhams Cross Farm is found on the edge of the Dartington Hall Estate near Totnes in Devon. It covers 34 acres of land that was bought by the Biodynamic Land Trust in 2015. The Trust holds land in perpetuity for sustainable food production. The Apricot Centre team are the first tenants of the farm and continue to develop it from a bare collection of 5 fields, that were put down to conventional barley for the last 40 year, to a rich and diverse food producing farm.
The farm was designed using the permaulture methodolgy, with an aim to produce delicious biodynamic food, vegetables, fruit, eggs, preserves and flour. The farm also supports wildlife biodiversity and has been designed to be low carbon. We are both organic and biodynamic certifed.
In the spring of 2017 we planted over 1000 fruit trees and bushes, 3000 agroforestry trees, established the beginning of the vegetable production, introduce a flock of 130 hens, and welcomed two cows called Damson and Daffodil on to the farm.
The farm is a learning demonstration of how we weave together the practices of biodynamic food production, permaculture design and agroforestry to create a beautiful, resilient and sustainable farm.

Crock & Cole launched just as 2019 was getting going. After 10 years of fomenting the idea, hesitating and being busy with other things, the time came.
The vision is to produce a range of wild fermented products for our local community. We wish to promote and popularise the deliciousness and the health benefits of raw, live fermented foods. We aim to make an artisanal product, which I believe to also be a peasant’s product. To this end, we strive to grow the produce ourselves, sourcing anything else as locally as possible, we use traditional ceramic fermenting vessels, and we embrace the diversity, seasonality and lack of homogeneity of our product.
We are a small business and we believe in the value of small businesses. We only wish to sell our produce locally, and would love to see the flourishing of other small fermenting businesses across the country.

Steepholding is a tiny farm, 9 acres of very mixed land next to the River Tone on the Somerset and Devon border. The nature of the land makes it hugely diverse ecologically, and that in turn has influenced what we grow and rear here, with the aim of enhancing these diverse habitats. The human benefits are that we have created a more traditional mixed farm, which produces a wide variety of delicious food, plants and fuel.
Alex Wilson & Ruth O'Brien, moved with their two children to a caravan in an open field that they called Steepholding in 2014 .
Previously, in Bristol, Ruth was working as a community market gardener in Hartcliffe (HHEAG). She also worked at Windmill Hill City Farm and taught organic gardening and permaculture.
Alex was based at Ragmans Lane Farm, harvesting willow, making apple juice and mushroom logs when they met and became a bicycle mechanic when he moved to Bristol.
In Bristol we were both actively involved in running Bristol Seed Swap and Somewhere Housing Co-op, and members of Bristol Permaculture group.

Jim's Organic Veg plot can be found a mile outside Burrington, North Devon. Vegetables are grown organically and with care to provide nutritious and delicious food. Most of the produce is sold within a few miles, being delivered weekly in a veg box.
Jim was born and raised on the farm at Higher Hacknell where his parents Tim and Jo have been farming organically since the 80’s. Having left the farm to travel, study, and work, Jim returned to Hacknell to start growing some veg.
