Cullompton Town Council is based in the Town Hall at 1 High Street, Cullompton. We have 15 Councillors and 11 employees, some full-time and others part-time, who all work hard to ensure that Cullompton remains a safe and pleasant place to live.

The services provided by the Town Council include:

  • Allotments
  • St Andrews car park
  • Town Hall hire for functions, birthday parties etc.
  • Street cleansing
  • Markets
  • Play areas and public open space
  • Youth services
  • Grants to local organisations
  • Archiving of historic photographs and documents
  • Tourism and local information centre including bus timetables
  • Town centre CCTV system
  • Street furniture and bus shelters
  • Sale of garden waste bags and bin liners for food waste
  • Reporting service for fly tipping, road and pavement defects, street lighting, etc.
  • Quarterly newsletter
  • Support for local events such as the Spring & Autumn Festivals
  • Christmas lights


The Town Council is a statutory consultee on all planning matters that affect the area and its Planning & Licensing Committee meets twice a month on the second and fourth Thursday to consider planning and licensing applications and to also discuss long term and strategic planning issues such as the proposed Western and Eastern Urban Extensions.

Devon Climate Declaration

Minutes of Cullompton Town Council meeting held at Cullompton Town Hall on Thursday 25 July 2019 commencing at 7pm

59. COMMITTEES AND WORKING GROUPS: To receive the draft Minutes of the following Committees and Working Groups and approve the recommendations contained therein:

(iv) Climate Change Working Group [Kate Haslett, Ian Moreton, Lloyd Knight (ex-officio)] meeting held on 15 July

RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the Climate Change Working Group are noted and

(i) The Working Group’s terms of reference are approved as contained in the Minutes (Proposed Cllr Ian Morton, seconded Cllr Lloyd Knight) and

(ii) that Cullompton Town Council signs up to the Devon Climate Declaration. (Proposed Cllr Ian Morton, seconded Cllr Robert Dietrich).

Councillors

The Councillors are elected every four years to provide a democratic representational voice for the community. Council meetings are held on the fourth Thursday in every month and in-between these monthly meetings we have numerous Committee and Working Group meetings to consider all aspects of life in Cullompton. Each Councillor will represent a Ward within the Parish of Cullompton.
