The North Devon and Torridge Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) operate under a single board which encourages a seamless multi-agency approach to localised issues across Northern Devon and a robust working relationship with other statutory and non-statutory agencies in the community.
North Devon and Torridge CSPs consist of numerous partners that each play an active role in setting the agenda and contributing to our evidence-based priorities – each of which is given below.

PRIORITIES
The priorities for North Devon and Torridge Community Safety Partnerships are:
Priority one: protecting the vulnerable
The broadest of our priorities focuses on crimes that often affect the most vulnerable in our society, for example: child sexual exploitation, modern slavery, radicalisation and substance misuse. With each we are fundamentally concerned with the impact on our communities.
Priority two: domestic abuse and sexual violence
A multi-agency approach to domestic abuse and sexual violence allows the victim to be at the heart of all that we do. We work closely with the Devon-wide commissioned service – the LEESAR Partnership – and coordinate with the Northern Devon Sexual and Domestic Violence Forum and other local partners to improve and enhance local support and awareness of this issue.
Priority three: substance misuse
Utilising a partnership approach to identify, support and tackle alcohol and drug-related issues within our communities. We work with specialist drug and alcohol services (both commissioned and voluntary) which in turn work with both service users and their families in a range of ways to reduce harm and support recovery.
Priority four: emerging threats
To allow the CSPs to respond quickly and effectively to new concerns we review emerging issues in our communities and, where necessary, will set up a specialist group from within our partners to work on a specific problem. Any of our partners can bring matters to the board for consideration and action.
