Carmel Coaches are a long established family business based in West Devon.
We serve local communities and beyond providing an excellent coach hire service, delivered by a team of experienced staff who can make the task of organising a trip very simple and stress-free.
We operate a fleet of twenty vehicles, ranging from 16 seat mini buses to 70 seat high capacity buses and therefore we are able to cater for all size of groups, for local, national and continental hire.
Our fleet also includes two stylish vintage vehicles which are very popular for weddings.
We operate many local bus and shopper services in and around the Devon area. All are free to travel on to those with the Devonwide Concessionary pass.

Bad news lovelies, but we're having to close the dairy down at the end of next week. [4th September 2020]
We really want to keep going but we simply can't. The changes which have taken place in the marketplace and general economy over the past couple of years have made it incredibly challenging to produce food at the standard we feel comfortable with whilst maintaining and running a well-run and up-to-date dairy. We've therefore decided to shut our doors and say farewell to Stapleton.
Thank you so much to all of you for your support over the last 45 years. We were especially heartened by the support of all our local shops and customers during the Covid crisis and for this we are incredibly grateful.

The Bideford Pannier Market is sited in the Old Town Area: follow the High Street, take a left turn along Grenville Street and there it stands, a formidable Victorian Building.
The covered Pannier Market Hall with its Artisan Studios has been returned to the traditional Tuesday and Saturday trading, 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. This enables the Hall to be used on the other days for arranged specialist markets. The independent Butcher’s Row and the Market Place Shops are open Mondays to Saturdays.

We've been at Higher Punchardon for over 40 years now. Three generations help out in the shop. We're a small farm, with about 40 acres of our own. Our herd of 30 cows are Devon Red and Hereford crosses.
We started the shop in 2000, just to test the ground - a shed at the end of the lane! It was successful and we bought a purpose-built building in 2004. We have always produced our own meat and vegetables here on the farm, and thought it would be good to share this with other like-minded people. Our customers care about where their food comes from and how it is treated, and like to support the local economy.

What’s your favourite thing about The BIG Sheep? The animals of course! Which is great news, as we’ve got hundreds of them waiting to meet you. As we all know, we’re getting used to a ‘new normal’ and so things at The BIG Sheep will be a little bit different for now. But fear not, we still have lots for you to do and see including our sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, pigs and even a few new arrivals who are out in our fields ready to welcome you back. Also, our roller coaster will be open from Monday, 20th July!
For now, only our outdoor areas will be open to the public. We’ve got our wonderful farm track for you to enjoy, plus a brand new outdoor entertainment area which will be hosting shows and events as soon as we are permitted to do so.

Starting in February 2012 we have always had a keen eye on the road market. Our background from the guys here now and everyone in between has always been on the road bikes.
Another massive part of living local to Bideford means the use of the Tarka Trail. Hybrid bikes and Electric bikes have a massive part to play in what we do! A range of both carried from Ridgeback, again a British company, and Orbea based in Spain cover us on that front.
