In order to make vulnerable people and groups feel even safer returning to the Museum, we have set aside 9am - 10am every Wednesday (beginning 2nd September) as a quiet time specifically for people who fall into this category. However, because places are strictly limited, we require advance booking to secure your place. Please call the Museum on 01803 293975 between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Saturday to reserve a place.
We have been working hard to ensure that the Museum will be safe for visitors and staff when we re-open. We are restricting and monitoring visitor numbers to ensure that we can maintain social distancing and ensure the safety of our visitors. Protective screens have been installed at our ticket desk and in our shop, and we have instigated a one-way system around the Museum in order to help maintain social distancing. Additionally, we will be implementing a rigorous cleaning regime throughout the day. Staff and volunteers who work in the public areas of the Museum will wear face masks or face shields, and we encourage visitors to do likewise.

With this support, Torbay Culture is working to build the foundations and infrastructure for change that will shape a more confident Torbay: ambitious for its future, a great place to live and to visit, with a thriving cultural offer in Torbay that is high quality, valued, sustainable and embedded in all parts of life.
Through Eyeview - a series of site-specific commissions, participatory projects and community actions ran throughout 2019 - Torbay Culture is supporting artists and communities to animate and re-imagine Torbay’s culture and heritage. Building from the ground up, a thread of new stories, conversations and projects aimed to gather people together, animating key heritage assets and platforming new work in collaboration with local, regional and national partners.
Building on the spirit of exchange and dialogue, we want to catalyse the emergence of new work and ways of thinking, nurturing a solid base from which the energy of our cultural sector can grow. Underpinning this is embedded support and capacity-building, interfacing with other aspects of our Great Place Scheme, to layer culture into our developing sense of place.
