Our mission We are here to support the cancer community by supplying cycle equipment to patients, survivors and their family members.
Cycling doesn’t only benefit the body, it allows time to digest and think over what is happening. Whether that is during diagnosis, treatment or after the all clear when you’re anxiously awaiting news from a follow up with a consultant or scan.
My story Adam, 30, founder of The Bike Network:
In 2017 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Bowel Cancer. Myself and my wife Jamie had just had a little boy who was only 2 months at the time, our lives were catapulted on to a roller coaster of tests and appointments.
I started a 3 month chemotherapy treatment but after 2 months the cancer shown no signs of improvement. I was sent for an emergency operation to have a colostomy bag fitted before starting over 5 weeks of daily radio-chemotherapy.
Thankfully this treatment was a huge success and after a major operation I was given the amazing news all the cancer was removed.
Cycling changed my life After my treatment had finished, I had 3 months to wait before my final operation to remove the tumour.
I was overweight and wanted to do everything I could to help improve my chances of a successful operation and speedy recovery. I had no clue what would happen after buying that used bike off eBay.
Since buying that bike, it has truly changed my life; I am fitter, healthier and stronger than before cancer. I have rode thousands of miles, completed an ultra marathon and the Royal Marines triathlon whilst raising in excess of £15,000 for charity.
I have created The Bike Network in the hope others can experience the same benefits I have.

With the unfortunate cancellation of The Great South West Sportive, it has left our fundraising short for the end of the year. We have vests, T-shirt’s and cycling jerseys ready to go and would love to hear about any fundraising ideas.

Our Workshop Is Open!
As our charity keeps growing, we need to find more ways to keep the wheels turning, allowing us to deliver more bikes to people affected by cancer.
We already have a fully kitted out workshop which we use to get the bikes we supply ready for their new owners. So why not use our skills and tools for all our local cyclists?
Not only will you be getting your bike worked on by a qualified & insured bike technician but the money you are spending will then be used to supply bikes and equipment to those touched by cancer.
We will be offering a few limited slots whilst we find our flow, just drop us a message with any questions you have or to get your bike booked in.
