The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.
Everyone from individuals to Scout and Girlguiding groups, villages, cities, counties, schools and corporates will be encouraged to play their part to enhance our environment by planting trees during the official planting season between October to March. Tree planting will commence again in October 2022, through to the end of the Jubilee year.
With a focus on planting sustainably, the QGC will encourage planting of trees to create a legacy in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation, which will benefit future generations.
As well as inviting the planting of new trees, The Queen’s Green Canopy will dedicate a network of 70 Ancient Woodlands across the United Kingdom and identify 70 Ancient Trees to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.

The Natural Capital Marketplace's mission is to join the dots and accelerate the scale of natural capital improvement projects across the UK. We do this by providing landholders with custom-matched projects that they can choose that align with their objectives for their land. These projects can be implemented by the landholder or more typically in partnership with one of our verified delivery partners. Projects can be funded in a range of ways, and these options are clearly laid out (and always looking to optimise grant funding and DEFRA support).
The natural capital outcomes from these projects (for example carbon credits or habitat improve) are then certified against third party standards (e.g., the woodland carbon code) and are then sold to councils. water companies and corporate customers that have committed to a pre 2050 net-zero carbon target.

Rothamsted Research is a world-leading, non-profit research centre that focuses on strategic agricultural science to the benefit of farmers and society worldwide.
The North Wyke Farm Platform is a unique national and global research facility that is linked to real-world farming.
In order to feed the growing global population without damaging our planet’s environment, the world needs innovative solutions to unlock the potential of agricultural systems. Supported by UK Research and Innovation, the North Wyke Farm Platform ‘farm lab’ is a large-scale research facility to study the complete flow of nutrients from soil to food, with the clear and distinct aim of making farming a more sustainable endeavour.
The platform is composed of four self-contained farms, each of which is managed under a different operational philosophy. This internationally unique design allows research outputs to be immediately relevant to real-world food producers, and also makes the facility an excellent venue for knowledge exchange events.
Our facility is used by national and international collaborators from a wide spectrum of scientific disciplines, with a particularly strong capability to accommodate studies on pasture-based livestock production systems and optimal land use. We are a founding member of the Global Farm Platform Network, and have recently been recognised by the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation as an exemplar research facility.

The Ivor Marsh Library was created through the refurbishment of the ‘Classroom of the Future’.
Ivor Marsh was a highly regarded former headmaster of Chulmleigh College who set up our community library back in the 1980s.
Mr Marsh recognised the value of reading and we think he would have approved of our ‘Accelerated Reader Scheme’ in the College, which has more than doubled the use of the library by our pupils.
As well as being a school library, we are also open to the Community. We stock a wide range of resources including adult fiction, junior fiction, picture, audio and large print books

Peninsula Transport is a new partnership created to transform transport and boost economic growth. It has been formed by the five lead transport authorities in the Peninsula – Cornwall Council, Devon County Council, Torbay Council, Plymouth Council and Somerset County Council.
The partnership brings together the area’s five transport authorities to work directly with the Department for Transport on the strategic transport priorities for the region. It will involve both the Heart of the South West and Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnerships, alongside Highways England, Homes England and Network Rail. Peninsula Transport will be seeking approval from the Secretary of State in due course to become a Sub National Transport Body (SNTB) which allows strategic transport investment decisions to be made at a local level rather than nationally.
